A Ranger search works from the record creator outward. Call Ranger Police Department for the city report. Call municipal court for a city citation or court entry. Use the Eastland County jail channel for custody and booking. If the Criminal District Attorney filed a Class A or B misdemeanor or felony, use the proper county clerk. Texas DPS offers a separate statewide criminal-history product.
Keep the police report, booking, citation, and county cause numbers separate. They are not required to match, and each helps a different office find its file.

Ranger publishes three useful numbers. Ranger PD uses (254) 647-3232. Ranger Municipal Court uses (254) 647-3318. Ranger City Hall uses (254) 647-3522. Start with the Ranger police number for an incident report, the Ranger court number for a citation or municipal docket, and the Ranger city number for a formal public-information route when the department directs you there.
City Hall and Municipal Court share 400 W. Main, Ranger, TX 76470, but the shared civic address does not combine their records. Ask which office accepts the written request, how copies are delivered, and what fee applies. The official pages do not publish a separate PD records counter schedule or fixed report-copy charge.
Records at the Ranger Police Department
The official Ranger Police Department page identifies Police Chief Charlie Rodriguez and describes Ranger department values. Ranger PD creates Ranger offense, incident, and arrest reports, but the page does not expose a public arrest log, name-search database, report-request form, copy fee, or records-desk hours. Call Ranger PD and ask for records instructions. For a formal Ranger request, confirm the City of Ranger submission channel.
Describe the exact item: basic offense report, arrest supplement, video, call log, or another agency record. Include the event date, approximate time, location, report number if known, and delivery contact. Identification or authorization can be required for material whose access depends on the requester, but Ranger has not announced it as a universal requirement.
A PD report states what the agency recorded. It does not prove that prosecutors filed the same allegation or that a court found guilt. Keep the report for the first part of the trail, then use a court judgment for the outcome.
Ranger Records in Council Packets
Ranger council packets provide an official secondary trail for aggregate Ranger activity. A December 2024 Ranger packet placed reports from the police chief and municipal judge on the public agenda. That shows the two Ranger departments reported to the council for the period. An agenda label is not a defendant-level record, police report, annual crime total, or court docket.
Use packets to understand municipal operations, then contact Ranger PD or Municipal Court for the actual file. A monthly report may count broad activity without showing the facts, redactions, filing choice, or disposition tied to one event. For a personal record question, the source report and court file remain the relevant evidence.
Booking and Arrest Records in Ranger
Ranger does not advertise a municipal long-term jail in the official sources inspected. Ranger PD creates the city arrest report, and a custodial arrest enters the Eastland County Jail trail. For current custody, use the official Eastland County Sheriff TX app or call the jail information line at (254) 629-3899. Ask the sheriff for older booking material not available through the app.
The booked charge can change. A prosecutor may reject, amend, reduce, or enhance the allegation. A booking entry shows that intake occurred, not that the person was convicted. If a higher-grade case is filed, read the County Clerk or District Clerk docket and final judgment. If the matter stays fine-only, Ranger Municipal Court remains the court custodian.

Ranger Court Appearance Records
Ranger publishes a city-specific appearance rule that makes the Ranger municipal path distinct. A Ranger defendant younger than 17 must appear in person with a parent or guardian. A person younger than 21 who is charged with a Ranger alcohol offense must also appear in person. These Ranger cases cannot be treated as ordinary online payment tasks when the court requires attendance.
Call before the deadline and ask what documents and setting apply. The municipal clerk can confirm the citation record, while the judge controls the case. A parent, guardian, or young defendant should not infer that a payment link cancels a mandatory appearance. The court file should record the settings, plea, orders, and final disposition that follow.
The Ranger Municipal Court File
The official Ranger Municipal Court page places the court at 400 W. Main and publishes Monday through Friday hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Its phone is (254) 647-3318 and fax is (254) 647-1407. The court handles Ranger citations, ordinance violations, and other fine-only matters within municipal jurisdiction. It does not keep Eastland County felony or Class A and B misdemeanor files.
The court page offers payment instructions, not a public defendant-name search. Supply the citation or case identifier and ask for the docket or a specific filed item. Confirm whether an ordinary or certified copy is needed and request the current charge before ordering.

Ranger Record Before Payment
Ranger warns people to get court permission before paying an amount tied to deferred disposition, defensive driving, or a partial-payment plan. A general payment route does not show that the judge approved one of those choices. Call the court, identify the citation, and ask what order or application must come first. Keep the clerk's written response with the case record.
The court also directs a person who cannot pay to ask about alternatives. After sworn financial testimony or evidence, the judge may reduce or dismiss fines and costs in severe circumstances. That is a court process, not an automatic online adjustment. Missing a deadline in silence can lead to a very different docket trail than contacting the clerk and following the judge's instructions.
How Ranger Records Reach the County
Ranger PD creates the report. Eastland County Jail creates a booking after custodial intake. The Criminal District Attorney decides whether to file a charge above the municipal level. The County Clerk keeps Class A and B misdemeanor cases, while the District Clerk keeps 91st District Court felony cases. Eligible arrest and disposition transactions then reach Texas DPS CCH.

Not every Ranger document travels through that line. The city report stays with police, and a fine-only citation can remain solely in municipal court. DPS holds reported events rather than the complete police narrative or full court jacket. Check the stage that answers the question, then move only when the record itself shows the next office.
Compare Four Ranger Record Numbers
A Ranger event can produce four useful keys. The PD report number locates the agency file. The jail booking number locates intake and custody. The municipal citation number identifies a fine-only city case. A county cause number identifies a filed higher-grade prosecution. Write down which office issued each number before calling.
Using the wrong key can create a false no-result. Municipal court may not recognize a police report number, and the county clerk may not hold a citation that stayed in Ranger. A name search adds risk because people can share names. Dates, location, agency, and case identifiers help the custodian distinguish records without disclosing more personal data than needed.
Ranger Record Access Rules
Ranger administrative and police records fall under the Texas Public Information Act, subject to statutory exceptions. Court records follow judicial access, sealing, and confidentiality rules. Read Ranger Crime Records by Year
For comparable crime data, select Ranger Police Department and a specific year in the official FBI Crime Data Explorer or Texas DPS Crime in Texas. The research did not retrieve a stable official annual Ranger offense-count table. Do not label missing, unavailable, or unreported data as zero. Council packets can add local monthly context, but they are not substitutes for a dated annual agency table.

Finish the Ranger Record Check
Verify the last stage. Compare the Ranger PD allegation with any county booking entry. Read the municipal disposition if the matter stayed with the city, or the proper county judgment if prosecutors filed a higher-level case. A dismissed charge is not a conviction, but dismissal alone does not automatically remove every arrest record. Deferred adjudication and expunction also have different effects.
If no result appears, call the record holder. The file may be new, on paper, in another court, outside portal coverage, or lawfully restricted.
